Pati Regent Sudewo Questioned by KPK Investigators in Railway Project Graft Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned Pati Regent Sudewo for questioning in connection with an alleged bribery case involving a railway construction project. Sudewo was examined as a witness.
“The examination took place at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said in Jakarta on Friday, August 22, 2025.
Sudewo’s name was previously mentioned in the indictment of two defendants: Bernard Hasibuan, Commitment Making Officer (PPK) at the Central Java Region I Railway Engineering Center (BTP), and Putu Sumarjaya, Head of the Railway Engineering Center and Budget User Authority (KPA).
The indictment, read out by the KPK’s public prosecutors at the Semarang Corruption Court on Thursday, September 14, 2023, stated that Sudewo allegedly received a commitment fee of Rp720 million related to the double-track railway project connecting Solo Balapan–Kadipiro–Kalioso KM96+400 to KM104+900 (JGSS6).
During the trial, prosecutors also revealed that the KPK had confiscated Rp3 billion from Sudewo as part of the investigation.
On Monday, August 11, 2025, the KPK named and detained a new suspect, adding to the 14 individuals and two corporate entities already charged in the case. The latest suspect was identified as Risna Sutriyanto (RS), a civil servant at the Ministry of Transportation who also served as head of the Working Group (Pokja) for the procurement of goods and services (PBJ) in the JGSS6 project and other packages under the Central Java Region I Railway Engineering Center for the 2022–2024 budget period.
The KPK has emphasized that the investigation into the railway project corruption case is ongoing and further legal measures are possible.
