Indonesian Police Officers on LPDP Scholarships Join Independence Day Ceremony in London
London – Indonesian police officers studying in the United Kingdom under the LPDP scholarship program joined the 80th Indonesian Independence Day flag-raising ceremony at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in London.
The ceremony was led by Ambassador Desra Percaya, Indonesia’s envoy to the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the IMO, who urged Indonesians abroad to uphold patriotism and national pride wherever they are.
Among the participants were several Polri officers currently pursuing higher education through the scholarship scheme, including AKP Henrico Suharsono, AKP I Made Pasek Saradahtam, AKP Dirga Abriawan, Ipda Gregory Mechamad Dion Sinulingga, Ipda Daffa Raihantra Budiman, Ipda Wishaka Dian Pandutama, Ipda Daffy Hafiz, and Ipda Rafa Rayenda.
Speaking after the ceremony, AKP Henrico Suharsono said he was honored to take part in the commemoration far from home.
“Even though we are away from Indonesia, our sense of nationalism never fades. This ceremony reminds us that our duty as public servants is not defined by borders, but by our commitment to serve the nation,” he said.
The participation of Indonesian police officers abroad highlighted both the spirit of national unity and the role of the diaspora in preserving cultural and patriotic values.
